Code 3 Fills The Board With Reunited Photos

Code 3, an animal rescue group, received a  GreaterGood grant following the Moore, OK, tornado. In the first two weeks after the tornado struck, Code 3 teams provided care for more than 150 animals housed in two shelters.

"We were blessed to help reunite owners and lost beloved pets," said Eric Thompson, Director of Disaster Response. "Many times Code 3 staff watched the tearful reunions and shared those emotional hugs. Thank you so much to and everyone that came together to support Code 3 during this deployment. The outpouring of generosity from animal lovers across the country keeps us rolling to pay it forward to those in need."

The Code 3 team kept a board of photos showing the pets who made it back to their families (shown here) to remind them "why we do what we do," said Thompson.

In early June, gave several “disaster” grants to organizations helping with the clean-up of the damage caused by the tornadoes in Oklahoma. Recipients included Team Rubicon, Red Rover, Code 3, International Fund for Animal Welfare, and Moore Animal Shelter, among others. Grants totaling more than $82,000 in all have been sent to agencies assisting with humanitarian aid and animal rescue in the aftermath of the storm.
