I lost the love of my life, Phoenix, an angora-persian, white beauty, with blue eyes, about 9 years ago. I never thought I would find any cat that would replace her, until we got this teenage, stray orange tabby at our Emergency & Specialty Hospital where I work. Fast Eddie, as one of our tech's named him, was going to be a blood donor. He was feisty, hated everyone and was a terrible blood donor. He also started gaining weight. But he and I bonded and I loved him tremendously. I knew his schedule and he knew mine, daily.
I finally realized that I could actually love another kitty, other than Phoenix. Ed lived in our 'cat room' and I doted on him for about 2 1/2 years until he was retired. And that's when I retired from pet sitting.
The best day of my life! I was given the opportunity to adopt him and he has been my best friend, my love, my everything, ever since. At the end of the month will be the 1 year anniversary of him coming home with me.He has lost 2 pounds since. I love my little man, who has shown me so much love and filled that void in my heart after Phoenix left me.
