My daughter was dating a guy who wanted to adopt a dog from shelter. After much research they went to an Animal Care and Control Shelter in Brooklyn. They picked out a very thin, sickly looking pit mix. They brought him home, and my daughter nursed him back to health. Of course her boyfriend's parents didn't want a dog so they made him bring Marley back to the shelter. Crying hysterically my daughter called me and begged me to let her go to the shelter and re-adopt him. She promised she would find him a good home as we live in an apartment where pets are not allowed. Needles to say it's almost four years later , she dumped the boyfried ,and Marley is a healthy 90 pounds and still with us. We love him dearly. And my landlord didn't give me a hard time about it, thankfully.
