My boyfriend was moving out of state, and suggested I get a pet... I thought a fishtank was a fine idea... He laughed and took me to the county animal shelter. I was and had always been a big fan of dogs, but with my schedule, I had decided that a cat would be a better option for me, due to their independence, and ability to be indoors loose while I am at work. So... I decided that I would adopt an adult cat, as I knew they were typically harder to find homes for. I had decided that I'd like an adult female, short haired cat. Then I met Medwin... He was a beautiful long haired male orange tabby cat. When I picked him up out of the cage, he absolutely melted into my arms, and adopted ME on the spot. I was excited as I took him home, having no idea of the trials that laid ahead of us. He took ill within 2 weeks of arriving home with me... Over $500 and hundreds of tests later, it was discovered that he suffers from kidney disease, and required prescription food. He is now happy, and his kidney disease is under control with the help of his special food... He now has 2 calico "sisters", and has officially converted me into a crazy cat lady!!! He "speaks" to me all the time, comes when he's called, and is ALWAYS ready for love... I wouldn't trade my Medwin for the world!!!!! My heart absolutely swells at the mere thought of him...
