After mourning the death of my sweet Buffy for many years, I decided that it was time to adopt. Little did I know that I would be taking home two rescue dogs! Scratte and Tjommie were rescued from a shelter gone bad in South Africa, by an organisation called Petsave. Scratte broke her nose at some stage and now has a very looong nose and Tjommie lost a leg (presumably in a dog fight). At first things were on shaky ground. Scratte was scared of basically everything (including me) but luckily her pillar, Tjommie, was there to provide comfort. It's been 7 months since we found each other, but it feels like much longer.
My kiddies may be old and nearly toothless, but they have such spirit and fill my heart with joy. Now we are a happy little family and I love them to bits!
