Sterling had come into my life when we needed each other. I had first noticed him, a cat in the backyard and went to see him, that was when Sterling and I first bonded.Time had passed and all the while I would go and visit him ,after my cat died our neighbour told me that I could adopt sterling so I asked dad to talk to him. It was true he was trying to find a forever home for Sterling, we agreed that I would adopt sterling.
On October 7 2011 a day before my birthday, I was reunited with Sterling after being away from him. I decided on the name Sterling that came from an old map of Scotland that was from our grandmother. Sterling developed urinary cystitis and the vet bills kept pilling up from the emergency vet visits , from the stress of loosing his best friend who he lived with for a year.
The vet visits kept on coming with a new foster dog who chased cats. Then the emergency vet visits seemed to have stopped for 2 years with a new foster dog who stayed with us, but then rushed him to the vet since he was crying when he went the washroom cause from stress of a 2nd foster dog chasing him in play.
The foster dogs got adopted and the emergency visits stopped with a new vet prescription cat food.
Most people would have given up on Sterling as soon as he got too expensive, not me! I promised Sterling when he first went for his emergency vet visit I said to him "you will be with me forever" and i will keep that promise I made!!
People are often asked if you could change the past what would you change? I would reply "I WOULD CHANGE NOTHING " I the reason I say this its because the past has made me a more compassionate, caring and devoted as I had to spend most days giving sterling medication after every emergency vet visits. sterling and I stand together because love can con-core all!!
