Almost 8 years ago a gal at work posted a "Free Kittens" poster at work. The mama was a feral cat who had given birth and the kittens needed forever homes. I was looking for a kitten since I had just move into a new place. The gal from work brought this little 8 week old little fur ball who was mostly black with pretty tan/amber swirls with cute green eyes. I held this little kitten and I instantly fell in love. She fell fast asleep in my arms purring the whole time. What I didn't realize was that she was promised to someone else but was brought to me so that I could see what she looked like and I would get her sister the next day.

Her "to be" owner came and took this little fur baby from me to hold and instantly she woke up and clawed at the young lady's hair. The young lady mentioned that she was going to de-claw her as soon as possible. I was mortified since I believe that ALL cats should keep their claws. I asked to hold her again and she fell right asleep in my arms again. Seeing this, my co-worker agreed to let me have this little fur baby since it was clear she wanted to be with me.

The first night I had her home, she shared my pillow and woke me up in the morning by "grooming" my hair and eyebrows. Now, almost 8 years later she is my fur child and I can't imagine my life without her. She has a personality all her very own and hardly ever leaves my side when I'm home. She even waits for me in the window until I come home from work. She has shared my bed ever since and, on occasion, still attempts to groom me.

I named her Moosie after much struggle with a name. She didn't quite like the rest of names I gave her but Moosie, being as unique as she is, felt right to her.
