After having our 4 cats for 12+ years, we lost our only boy, Sailor, just a few months ago. We were devastated and could not even think about making an addition to our family at any point in the foreseeable future. But when we went to a baseball game for my birthday a month ago and saw they were having the first ever Adopt-A-Pet event at the stadium, we thought we'd go in...just to take a peek.
I was immediately drawn to the first kitty I saw, and her cute cute face was just impossible to resist. She climbed right into our arms and straight into our hearts to become our little Cali Maria!! Before long our three other girls - Mama, Princess & Whitey - welcomed her in and they are now more playful and happy than they've been in years!!
Cali seems to have so many of Sailor's quirky behaviors that it's comforting to think he might still be around in some way. She's helped us to start healing and recovering as a family while keeping our boy close to our hearts.
