Nominations for animal heroes are now closed. We want to thank everyone who participated and sent us a story.

The Animal Rescue Site staff read through each and every one of the hundreds of submissions sent. Some of these wonderful stories are now featured on The Animal Rescue Site's homepage.

The Animal Rescue Site, in partnership with GreaterGood.org, will make a grant to a rescue shelter in honor of an animal hero. The author of the winning story will also receive a prize from The Animal Rescue Site's store! We'll announce the winner by March 2, 2009.

Thank you again for sharing your wonderful stories of the heroism, bravery, and service your rescued animals have shown. Please remember to click every day to help animals in need. A click a day can help save the world!
