"Cute" is hereby officially redefined. Our Tibetan Yak Hat brings with it warmth, whimsy, and a touch of the wild!

This sweet accessory is handmade by artisans of the Tibet Artisan Initiative, who work in conjunction with the Dropenling Handicraft Development Center -- an organization dedicated to improving the lives of local artisans throughout the region by selling only unique, high-quality handicrafts made in Tibet, by Tibetans. Dropenling is a Tibetan word meaning "giving back for the betterment of all mankind." Their creations are unique to them and are treasures destined to become keepsakes.

The Tibet Artisan Initiative was started as a poverty alleviation project, and now provides a market channel to hundreds of Tibetan artisans -- many living in rural areas without access to outside customers. TAI works closely with artisans to reintroduce handicraft traditions, improve raw materials sourcing, improve overall quality, and introduce innovative product designs based on traditional motifs.

Been wanting this hat for 2 years and finally got it. It is so cute. Fit is a little loose which is comfortable for me. I'm gonna wear it all the time.

I really like this hat. It is the craziest one I have.

It doesn't really look like the picture, but it is definitely cute! It's also a little large, but still warm. Some of my friends are envious of my cute hat!

I bought the yak hat in late November 2012. It is extremely cute, but I was a bit disappointed because the hat I received did not match the advertised image. I should have known better because it is a handmade item. On my hat, the horns are turned inward and are glued down. The ears are not folded over, but are open flat against the hat with tufts of red thread sewn into their centers. The hat is a bit large for my average-sized woman's head, but that was expected. Overall a fun, silly, warm hat that I'm glad I purchased. Just wish I knew to expect significant variation in the details.

I wish I'd waited until it was the reduced price. It doesn't look much like the photo. Not furry at all. The flaps flip out (not around your face) and there's nothing holding it to your head (quite large - woven, not knit).
