I bought this for my mother for Yule. She loves it. The mitt covers her fingers completely and up past the middle of her hand. It is heavy so no heat passes through and the grips make it slip proof. She uses this and another yellow "duck" silicone mitt she has all the time without issue. They look cute sitting out on her counter too.

Cute in my kitchen My grandson loves to play with it. I find it's easier to use if you put your thumb in the top half. It would be nice if it were longer but then it wouldn't look good on a counter.

I have both the hen and the dog silicone oven mitts, and the dog is much flimsier than the hen is. I don't have the monkey so I can't comment on its thickness. I used the hen mitt once to get something out of the oven and don't recall it feeling too thin to protect me from the heat, but I was afraid of my hand or arm getting burned (I'm a klutz) due to the fact that these mitts only cover your fingers up to the first knuckle on your hand. This is just how these red silicone oven mitts are designed, and they are for adult hands. A smaller hand would not get more coverage because the mitt bends where the hand bends, regardless. If anything, it might even be more difficult for a child to use due to the extra space that would be in the tips of the beak, in this case. Added note: I've now used this mitt twice for picking up a pot of boiling water by the wire-type handle across the top, and it worked great for that.

Cute mitt, great for a hand puppet. it's a bit short on an adult's hand. Gave to my brother as a gift so I'm not sure how well it actually works for practical purposes. Another buyer's review of the monkey (which I also gave to my brother) says it's a bit thin for high heat use. Use with caution until you know what it can safely handle.

Waste of money there far to small and can't see how you can take hot casserole dishes out the oven with this, I rate it 1* for looking good.
